Mr. and Mrs. Pilger

Please join me in congratulating Joe Pilger for being named Citizen of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce awards banquet on Saturday! Below is what was said about Mr. Pilger. Congratulations, Mr. Pilger!!

Joe is currently in his eighth year serving as Principal at Lincoln Early Childhood School in Monmouth. Known for his servant leadership and strong rapport with students, Mr. Pilger consistently fosters a positive and supportive environment for students, staff, and families. He speaks just enough French to get through school registration, answer questions, and make our growing French-speaking population in Monmouth feel welcome. He is an active member of the Monmouth-Roseville Parent-Teacher Committee and regularly volunteers at after-school events, whether it be calling BINGO or MCing for the Talent Show. You’ll also see Joe out grilling pork chops at football games and coaching various youth sports year round.

A proud graduate of Monmouth College, Joe actively supports the institution by participating in the college’s Scholarship Competition as an interviewer. You will also see him at football games talking with recruits and making them feel, as he does with everyone, like a million bucks. A typical interaction with Joe leaves you feeling better about yourself and with a more positive outlook on life.

Joe serves as a Deacon at Highpoint Church, where he is involved in the worship team and leads a Men’s Group. He is generous with his time and talents, and he does it all while raising five school-age children with his wife Amanda. Joe goes above and beyond in service to our community and is a consistent, positive role model to hundreds of children and adults alike.
