On Wednesday mornings during the school year, staff at MRSD#238 schools meet to collaborate. Students are asked to arrive at school one hour late on Wednesdays. The purpose of this time is for teachers to analyze student data, review best instructional practices, and modify and improve instruction based on student needs.
Leading educational researchers have concluded that creating a collaborative environment is one of the most significant factors in successful school improvement efforts. Effective collaboration among teachers and school leaders is linked to gains in student achievement, higher quality solutions to problems, increased effectiveness among all staff, and expanded pool of ideas, methods, and materials that benefit all teachers.
